Thanks a lot, this was helpful to me too

Let me add a few keywords so that this page becomes more searchable

tabular
latex
adjust column height
cell height

You see I spent 3 hours before landing on this page :)
Thanks again

Super handy, i was irked that the line height in my tables was so messed up -- but you pulled it together!

One more keyword so that this page is easier to find:

row height

I didn't spend 3 hours, thanks to manish, but it took me a few minutes.

Thank you so much for this solution, you made my day.

Very useful, but I have one more question, I have text that is vertically aligned (using \rotatebox) in a \multirow statement. Is it possible to let the row height adjust automatically so that the vertically aligned text doe not extend beyond the cell? Thanks a lot.

This was fantastically helpful!
Thanks so much!

Now to help the keywords:
Latex row height
Latex row spacing
Latex table row height
Latex tabular row height

Probably safier : add \rule[-2.5cm]{0cm}{5cm} in one cell. Play with values, the first one is optional, here it is set to minus half the wanted height in order to center vertically text in the cell.

Trick found on comments in this page : http://chenfuture.wordpress.com/2007/09/20/latex-tabular-more/
